The extra-fine artists' oil colors of the MASTER CLASS series represent thick ground fine mixtures of highly-qualified pigments and binding agents produced on the basis of linseed oils. The natural resins- dammar and mastic- are added into compounds of the binding agents. Great brightness and purity of colors. The paints are distinguished by a perfect balance of primer and finished colors. Fine-grained, dough artist’s colors of MASTER CLASS series are notable for their excellent lightfastness. They do not change their original colors after drying, so that they can be (and have widely been!) used in restoration works.

Williamsburg's oil paint accumulated a following and international presence while preserving the handmade integrity of the paint. Each colour is ground to enhance the beauty and luminosity specific to that particular pigment. Some colours will feel slightly gritty, others extremely smooth. The pigments are ground in pure, premium, alkali-refined and PH- balanced linseed oil and made in batches no larger than five gallons at a time. This gives total control over the product, much like the late nineteenth-century French colour makers. All the materials are hand measured, and every ounce of paint is scrutinised.
