Founded in 1850, Brause manufactures steel nibs for writing, drawing and calligraphy. Brause nibs can be found in the toolbox of many calligraphers, lettering artists, penmen and illustrators and are considered to be among the best on the market.
The Brause 511 is a high flex nib that produces fine hairlines, small swells, and requires a gentle hand. Very similar to the Brause 513 nib in appearance and performance, save for a few key differences: The 511 is scratchier, and does not glide well on textured paper. The 511 is also more flexible than the 513, making it more suitable for intermediate and advanced calligraphers than beginners. Excellent for drawing, tiny writing, and Spencerian. Suitable for Copperplate.Founded in 1850, Brause manufactures steel nibs for writing, drawing and calligraphy. Also called ''Blue Pumpkin'' because of its blue color and shape, this short hand nib has a very fine point and a very high ink capacity. It's also highly elastic. The Brause B50 is a nickle-plated pan nib with a wide point (0.45mm) that is great for monoline lettering. Reinforced elasticity allows this nib to last longer and hold up under pressure. Capable of some line variation, but not recommended for pointed pen hands such as Copperplate and Spencerian. No account yet?
